When you use CYBROX to download a video or audio file on a computer, the web browser receives the media stream directly from our servers. CYBROX initiates the transfer, but Mozilla Firefox determines where the file is stored on your disk. On Windows, completed downloads default to C:\Users\{username}\Downloads, while on macOS they default to /Users/{username}/Downloads (Firefox Help).
If your download completed but you cannot locate the file on your computer, use the following verification methods to find and inspect it.

Locate files using the Firefox download panel
Modern versions of Firefox display a download progress arrow in the top toolbar during and after transfers:
- Look at the upper-right corner of the Firefox toolbar next to the address bar. A downward-pointing arrow appears while files are transferring.
- Select the Downloads arrow to open the recent download list.
- Locate your completed video file and select the folder icon next to the filename.
- Firefox immediately opens the destination directory in File Explorer on Windows or Finder on macOS, highlighting the exact media file (Firefox Help).
Open the full Firefox download library
If the toolbar panel has cleared or the browser was closed and reopened, you can find the complete transfer history in the Library:
- Open Firefox and press
Ctrl + Jon Windows orCmd + Jon macOS. Alternatively, select the application menu (three horizontal lines) and choose Downloads. - Locate the video or audio file in the list. Completed transfers show the final file name and file size.
- Right-click the file entry and select Open Containing Folder (Windows) or Show in Finder (macOS).
- If an entry displays Cancelled or Failed, the transfer was interrupted and must be restarted (CYBROX documentation).
Troubleshooting incomplete and .part files
If you find a file ending with the .part extension (for example, video.mp4.part), Mozilla Firefox has not finished downloading the media stream or the connection was interrupted. Do not attempt to play or rename this file manually until Firefox completes the transfer and automatically removes the .part extension.
If the .part file remains on your disk without finishing:
1. Open Firefox's Downloads library (Ctrl + J or Cmd + J).
2. Check if a circular retry or resume arrow is visible next to the failed entry.
3. If Firefox reports Failed or the transfer cannot be resumed, return to CYBROX, request a fresh format link, and restart the transfer (CYBROX documentation).
Change where Firefox saves your downloads
You can configure Firefox to save files to a custom folder or ask for a destination for each transfer:
- Select the three-line application menu in the upper-right corner of Firefox and choose Settings.
- In the General panel, scroll down to the Files and Applications section.
- Under Downloads, select Browse (Windows) or Choose (macOS) next to "Save files to" to pick a new default folder.
- Alternatively, select Always ask you where to save files if you prefer to specify the target directory for every video or audio file (Firefox Settings).
Confirm the file with CYBROX
CYBROX delivers the requested video or audio stream to your browser, but websites cannot inspect your local filesystem to verify disk retention. Closing the browser window before the transfer ring finishes or running out of disk storage can leave partial files. Always confirm that the final video duration and file size match the format information reported during link inspection before moving or archiving the file.
